5 Reasons to Check Out The Adolphus Hotel in Downtown Dallas

A few weekends ago, Harrison and I spent a morning at The Adolphus Hotel in Downtown Dallas.

Between the pool, the food, and the gorgeous hotel, if you haven’t been to The Adolphus you’re missing out on a great spot.

Here are 5 reasons to check out The Adolphus Hotel.

1. The food

We enjoyed a full brunch at City Hall Bistro at The Adolphus, and it was, in a word, incredible.

From the to perfectly dressed Belgian waffle to the real honeycomb that accompanied our charcuterie board, City Hall Bistro really pays attention to the details.

Sweet or savory- whatever you’re in the mood for, The Bistro has perfected it on their menu.

2. The history

When the founder of the hotel built it in 1912, his intention was to create the first grand hotel in Dallas.

He succeeded, and The Adolphus became just that. Since its creation, it has housed major political leaders (we’re talking presidents like Ronald Reagan and leaders like Queen Elizabeth II!!) notable entertainers, and more.

It is now on a list of Dallas Landmarks and on the National Register of Historical Places.

Fun fact: The Adolphus stood as the tallest building in Texas until 1922!

3. The decor & ambiance

Designers decorated the whole hotel beautifully in a mid-century modern meets royalty.

From plush green velvet sofas to gorgeous pendant lighting, whomever decorated this hotel knew what they were doing.

The hotel vibe is posh and luxurious with a modern touch.

4. The pool

The rooftop pool is surrounded by buildings downtown, which gives such a neat urban feel!

5. The location

Brunch at City Hall Bistro can easily be followed by any downtown activity.

The Adolphus is set in the Main Street District on Commerce Street- anything you want to do in downtown or uptown is a few minutes away!

Have you ever been to The Adolphus? I’d love to hear your experience in the comments below!
