It’s December, and with Christmas just a week away, you can expect gorgeous Georgetown to be decked out for the holidays. As one of my favorite places to visit when I’m in the DC area, Georgetown doesn’t disappoint when it comes to Christmas decor.
Check out 8 things you’ll find in Georgetown this winter!
1. All of the lights
Lights are one thing that make winter wonderlands come to life. Christmas lights twinkle in many of the shops in Georgetown. My favorite shop is pictured here, Olivia Macaron. It’s true that macarons are pretty pricey for what you get, but they are my favorite dessert nonetheless. And at Olivia Macaron, there are so many flavors and you’re surrounded by pretty decor. Definitely worth that extra money for the experience. (Also, macarons are naturally gluten free, so that’s a huge plus in my book!)
2. Oversized decor
How fantastic is this giant nutcracker? He basically shouts that it is Christmas by his size alone!
3. Wreaths everywhere
You can expect pretty wreaths on nearly every streetlight. How beautiful!!
4. Christmas trees
Because nothing says Christmas like a giant decked out Christmas tree! This one is actually right outside of Rosslyn Station, the closest metro stop to M-Street.
5. A view of a twinkling DC
Okay, this isn’t necessarily a Christmas feature. But with all of the lights aglow, it contributes to the Christmas vibe!
6. Floating chandeliers
Christmastime is magical. Floating chandeliers are magical (even if you know they’re being held up by wires).
7. Stores with the Christmas spirit
How cute is this store front? It is definitely ready for Christmas.
8. Fun sculptures
This is also not necessarily related to Christmas, but it’s something you’ll find in Georgetown this holiday season! This cool light sculpture is right outside of Olivia Macaron.
