51 Instagrammable Spots in Austin, TX

If you’re at all familiar with the vibrant Texas capital, you won’t be surprised by how many Instagrammable places in Austin there are!

I’ve put together a list of Instagrammable spots in Austin that I compiled from other blogger friends, Pinterest lists, Google searches, and more.

Even after removing some that I didn’t think were quite Insta-worthy, I still ended up with a list of a whopping 51 spots of the most Instagrammable places in Austin.

Harrison and I always have a lot of fun exploring the city, and we love how it’s just a short car ride away from our home in Dallas!

We actually made a road trip video show-casing some of the beautiful and Insta-worthy locations in and around Austin, central Texas, and the Texas hill country.

You can check it out below.

[If you don’t see a video player below, you may need to disable your ad blocker.]

As we’ve explored Austin, we have added to this list. How could we not? This town is full of Instagrammable spots!

In fact, there are so many Instagrammable places in Austin that we’ve gone back a few times now!

Without further ado, here is my list of 51 Instagrammable spots in Austin!

Map of Locations

Here’s a full map of locations, color coded based on category.

You can expand the map to plan your own route to visit these Instagrammable spots in Austin!

Map provided by Wanderlog, a travel planner

Bridges

1. 360 Bridge- My Favorite Instagram Spot in Austin

The 360 Bridge is definitely one of the most Instagrammable spots in Austin.

When you’re there, you’re going to want to capture as many angles as possible. This place is too gorgeous not to!

There’s the beautiful architecture of the bridge, and the gorgeous winding river.

Just keep in mind that you have to climb up a rocky path to get to the overlook.

There is limited parking, but somehow the three times we’ve visited there has been parking available.

Here are two more photos we got at the bridge a few years ago… I wasn’t kidding when I said it was my favorite Instagram spot in Austin!

So hopefully you can see how this definitely qualifies as one of the most Instagrammable places in Austin!

2. Lady Bird Lake Boardwalk

Manuel Garza via Flickr

This is the perfect spot to get a photo of the Austin skyline.

As an added bonus, you get to capture the skyline with a beautiful body of water.

You may see stand up paddle boarders or kayakers on the water, or you may be able to capture that rare moment when the water is still and reflecting the Austin skyline.

Either way, this is definitely one of the most Instagrammable places in Austin.

3. Pfluger Pedestrian Bridge

Jim Nix via Flickr

This bridge runs over Lady Bird Lake as well!

It can be part of the backdrop of yet another shot of the Austin skyline against the shimmering water of Lady Bird.

In other words, it’s a totally Insta-worthy spot in Austin! 😉

4. Congress Avenue Bat Bridge

Earl McGeehee via Flickr

When you first hear its name, the Congress Avenue bat bridge probably doesn’t sound like a very Instagrammable place in Austin.

But again, this bridge is one of those weird (but cool) Austin places that Austinites tell outsiders to check out.

Once the sun sets, you can see hundreds (thousands??) of bats flying across a colorful sky- not only is it Instagrammable, but it’s a unique moment you’ll never forget!

5. Lamar Bridge

Joey Parsons via Flickr

This is an old bridge that was originally built in the 40s.

If you’re wondering why the view looks oddly similar to Pfluger bridge, it’s because it’s only 200 feet away!

Apparently the Lamar bridge doesn’t have dedicated bike lanes and isn’t as safe as it could be for pedestrians but it couldn’t be remodeled to accommodate pedestrians better because of its historic status.

So the Pfluger bridge was built specifically for pedestrians and cyclists!

Although these bridges blend in from afar, I wanted to include both so you had the inside scoop!

Restaurants & Cafes

6. The Factory at Wild Chix & Waffles

** This spot is closed as they make changes; check here for updates **

This coffee shop knows how to do matcha.

Is this the prettiest matcha latte you’ve ever seen? Because it’s the prettiest matcha latte I’ve ever seen.

Cozy up at their pillow nook and enjoy your drink.

And while you’re at the Factory, don’t forget to have some fun and snap some pics on their fun hanging swings!

They also have a cute mural on the wall of a girl drinking coffee if you want a more goofy snap!

7. Josephine House

How beautiful is this cafe?

Wander inside for some more fun Austin Instagram spots!

8. Le Politique

Le Politique is definitely on the most instagrammable places in my list of Austin Instagram spots because of it’s adorable decor!

Inside you’ll find a gorgeous marble bar with a retro feel.

Just be warned- if you’re going on a weekend, it’s going to be crowded.

9. Mattie’s

Nick Simonite via Mattie's

Are you interested in getting amazing food in a totally Instagram-worthy beautifully-restored 19th century home?

If so, you must check out Mattie’s!

I hear the food is wonderful and the photo opportunities are stellar!

10. The Oasis on Lake Travis

This is one of those restaurants that’s so popular you see people sporting its swag (t-shirts, ball caps, etc.) all over Texas!

Plus, it’s got amazing lake front property with to-die-for views perfect for the ‘gram!

There is actually an annual competition for who can capture the most beautiful shot of this place at sunset!

You’ve got to check it out when you’re in Austin!

11. Light-bulb bubble tea at Mango8

This place has the cutest containers for your drink!

I know.

I wouldn’t have thought light bulbs would be the cutest bubble tea cups, but they are!

Definitely check out this Instagram spot in Austin if you love bubble tea and want to get a great shot with their super cute light bulb cups!

12. Ramen Tatsu-ya

This isn’t a post for restaurants in Austin.

But I have a handful of eateries on this list because there are so many places in Austin that have Instagrammable photo spots and feature yummy food!

I’ve read great things about this place’s food and I think the Insta photos speak for themselves.

If you like ramen, this is a must-see Instagrammable spot in Austin!

13. Franklin Barbecue

I’ll be honest, I’m not the biggest BBQ fan.

I know – heresy!

But I have to include Franklin BBQ on my list of Instagrammables spots in Austin because of how much people absolutely rave about this place.

If you decide to go, expect a line out the door and a wait time of 3+ hours.

It’s hard for me to believe, but I’ve heard the food is worth the wait!

14. Ah Sing Den

This restaurant has a cute interior and apparently amazing food!

I can’t wait to get a photo here the next time I’m in Austin!

15. Junes All Day

Dallasites love their brunch which is why I know I’m going to love Junes All Day.

This restaurant apparently has delicious food and a cute atmosphere making for great Instagram photos!

I can’t wait to visit it!

16. Home Slice Pizza

If you’re like me and absolutely love New York street pizza, this Instagram spot in Austin is for you!

There are two different locations in Austin, I’ve marked the South Congress location on the map, since it seems to be the more iconic one.

It has a fun retro vibe that’ll brighten up your Instagram feed.

17. Elizabeth Street Cafe

Jodie Barts via Flickr

If you read my post about Instagrammable places in Paris, you know I can’t resist a cute cafe.

Elizabeth street is definitely a cute cafe where you can totally capture something fun for Instagram!

18. Cafe No Se

If you’ve looked at other bloggers lists of Instagrammable places in Austin, you’ve probably noticed this place made a lot of those lists.

The reason why is because it apparently has great food and excellent photo opportunities.

If you’re looking for an Instagram worthy spot in Austin check out Cafe No Se!

Hotels

19. Austin Motel

The Austin Motel has made a name for itself because of its sign.

And I’m just going to leave it at that…

20. Trace & the W Austin

I love the vibes of this hotel & restaurant which is why it made it on my list of Instagrammable spots in Austin.

When you go in the W Hotel, you are welcomed by a cute succulent wall, too!

21. Lake Austin Spa Resort

If you want to get some beautiful photos of lake Austin, check out the Lake Austin Spa Resort!

They also have a gorgeous pool barn that has to be one of the most unique indoor pools I’ve ever seen.

22. Hotel Saint Cecilia

Ben Fullerton via Flickr

As you can see, this hotel features a cute, retro pool and super popular neon light sign that says, “SOUL.”

If you want to join the ranks of countless Instagrammers who have also captured this cool sign, definitely check out this place!

You can book your stay here!

Instagrammable Murals

23. ‘Tau Ceti’ Mural

This mural is really cool!

I love its urban, optical illusion vibes.

Plus, it’s vibrant colors will add a nice pop to your Instagram feed!

24. Love Mural & Sledd Nursery

I’m definitely feeling love vibes in this city!

This mural is right across from Sledd Nursery, which is filled with gorgeous plants (need I mention how instagrammable plants can be?)!

25. You’re My Butter Half mural

This mural is one of those cute places in Austin that just had to make my list of Instagram places in Austin.

It’s randomly on the side of a building in a sleepy little neighborhood.

It also makes for the perfect Instagrammable spot for best friends or couples!

26. Peace, Love, Austin mural

This mural is in downtown Austin, right by the Google store, and definitely represents the all-around Austin vibes of peace and love!

As far as murals go, this is one of the most Instagrammable spots in Austin!

Want to explore more than just Austin? Check out these 20 hidden gems in the Texas Hill Country!

27. I Love You So Much mural

Yet another Instagrammable mural in Austin!

This one is a classic, located on South Congress on the side of Jo’s Coffee.

Don’t worry about not having someone there to take your photo… there’s usually somewhat of a line to take a picture on the weekends!

And if not, you can just grab a passerby. They’ll understand! 🙂

28. Whole Foods ATX Sculpture

If you didn’t already know, Whole Foods was started in Austin!

So no list of Instagrammable spots in Austin would be complete without a shout out to Whole Foods.

And although I know this one technically isn’t a mural, this section seemed like the best place to include it.

The Whole Foods ATX sculpture is one of those fun ones you can climb all over.

It’s a great place to get a photo for Instagram, and I think it’s a super cute photo spot for couples!

29. Greetings From Austin Mural

This is one of the most classic Instagrammable places in Austin.

It’s the perfect place for out-of-towners (particularly from out-of-state) to get a cute photo for Instagram and a memento of visiting Texas.

30. Love From Austin Mural

The Texas state outline is so distinctive, why not get a photo with it?

I love the simplicity of this mural, and the black and white contrast is sure to pop on your Instagram feed!

31. Let’s Band Together Mural

Jim Nix via Flickr

This mural captures the heart (pun intended) of Austin well!

It’s beautiful and absolutely deserves to be on anyone’s list of Instagrammable places in Austin.

32. Hi, How Are You Mural

Lorie Shaull via Flickr

You can get some great photos at this fun, goofy mural.

I’m looking forward to getting a picture here the next time I’m in Austin!

33. Willie for President Mural

Jürgen Telkmann

If you’re a fan of Willie Nelson, you’re going to love this mural!

But even if you’re not, I think it captures some of the spirit of Austin, Texas.

Parks & Nature

34. Mount Bonnell

Taken by my friend @readysetjetset

Although murals, restaurants, and other parts of city life are fun, my real passion for capturing beauty comes out when I can get a great shot in nature.

That’s why I’m super excited to visit Mount Bonnel.

I can already tell from the photos I’ve seen that it’s one of the most Instagrammable places in Austin.

35. Barton Springs Pool

Barton Springs is a really cool and unique natural swimming hole.

Our friends in Austin have told us we have to visit it the next time we’re there!

You can definitely get a cool photo for the gram here- but come at the early hours of the day to capture it without crowds of people!

36. Krause Springs

This is a bit further outside of Austin in Spicewood, but it’s so magical I had to include it on this list!

Unlike most water holes in Texas that are state owned, Krause Springs is privately owned which I love!

It’s clean and beautiful, and you don’t need a reservation ages in advance in order to get in.

It costs $8 cash per adult to enter.

37. Hamilton Pool Preserve

Darrell Miller via Flickr

There are so many epic photos of Hamilton Pool Preserve.

This natural watering hole is 30-40 mintues away from Austin but it is such an iconic place, I had to include it!

Just keep in mind that reservations are required, and you need to make them pretty far out in advance- usually months in advance.

You can book your reservation here.

As a nature-loving girl, I can’t wait to visit it and capture it on camera for myself (if I can ever get a reservation!!)!

38. Barton Creek Greenbelt

Matthew Planchard via Flickr

If you want to hike trails and get more nature shots, the Barton Creek Greenbelt is a great place to go!

39. Roy and Ann Butler Hike and Bike Trail

SK via Flickr

For those interested in more of a walk through nature than a hike, Roy and Ann Butler Hike and Bike Trail is the perfect spot!

The scenic views here definitely make for great photo opportunities!

40. Mueller Lake Park

This place is particularly beautiful during the water lantern festival.

But even if you don’t make it there during the festival, its beauty still earns it a spot among the most Instagrammable places in Austin!

41. Zilker Park

Cesar Garza via Flickr

Zilker Park is another great place for nature photography.

This park enables you to feel like you’re far from a city while being just a short drive from downtown.

42. Umlauf Sculpture Garden

Tojosan via Flickr

For those interested in fine art, Umlauf Sculpture Garden is a must-see!

It also features photo-worthy natural beauty, and deserves to be on anyone’s list of Instagrammable places in Austin.

43. Red Bud Isle

Jim Nix via Flickr

Texas has a unique, rugged sort of beauty that took some time to grow on me.

The photos I’ve seen of Red Bud Isle seem to highlight that rugged beauty.

I’m excited to get a photo for Instagram here the next time I’m in Austin!

44. Auditorium Shores at Town Lake

Jim Nix via Flickr

There are a lot of great views of downtown Austin and this is certainly one of them.

If you’re looking for an epic shot of the Austin skyline, head here!

Instagrammable Areas & Places

45. Cute Nail Studio

Not only does Cute Nail Studio do the cutest, funkiest nails in Austin, but they have an adorable wall to top it off!

46. Blanton Museum of Art & Ellsworth Kelly’s ‘Austin’

Photo captured by my friend @readysetjetset

This super cool building was designed by Ellsworth Kelly at the Blanton Museum of Art in 2015.

I love its symmetry and colors!

That’s why I had to include it on my list of Instagrammable places in Austin.

And I hope you include it on your list as well the next time you’re in Austin!

You can take a photo outside for free, but if you’d like to enter, admission to Temple of Light is included with museum admission, which is $12 for adults (you can see all admission pricing here).

47. South Congress

While you’re at the “I love you so much” mural, you might as well explore South Congress! This place is filled with pretty areas!

And if you haven’t noticed the succulent theme in the photos here, let me quickly bring it to your attention.

I think I saw more succulents in Austin than any other city I’ve been in!

48. Clarksville

Jason John Paul Haskins

There are so many cute neighborhoods to explore in Austin, and this is definitely one of them.

Here you’ll find some adorable restaurants, like Josephine’s.

It is a historic part of Austin with lovely houses and structures that have stood for quite some time now!

The baptist church you see in the photo above is at the heart of the historic Clarksville district, and was established in 1935.

Check out Clarksville the next time you’re in Austin!

49. Laguna Gloria

There are quite a few Instagram worthy spots at Laguna Gloria at The Contemporary Austin.

My favorite is the inside of their office (you’ll go into the office to pay $5 to explore Laguna Gloria).

And then there’s all the beauty outside! From sculptures to lake views, you’ll find a ton of photo opportunities!

Read more about Laguna Gloria here!

50. Texas State Capitol

For those interested in politics, history, or current events, I feel like the Texas State Capitol would appeal to you.

For everyone else, the Texas State Capitol actually features some Instagram worthy photo spots!

It’s a beautiful building and makes for a great photo!

51. Frost Bank Tower

Scott Beale/Laughing Squid

If you want to get a shot of some amazing architecture, you have to visit Frost Bank Tower.

This skyscraper is huge and could totally make for a great Instagram photo given the right angle and inspiration!

I also love the way it lights up at night!

Comment any other Instagrammable places in Austin! I’d love to check them out next time I’m in the area!
