Can you remember the best restaurant experience you’ve had?
I had a pretty awesome experience this past weekend- even with a 30 minute wait time to be seated.
So what made it worth the wait? Better yet- beyond worth the wait?
It was the customer service combined with some tasty food in a gorgeous bistro.
Now, I don’t know if the customer service is always this top-notch since it was the first time I’d ever been to Mercat Bistro, but based on the long wait and crowded place, I bet others love it as well.
The customer service
Our server was named Timothy, and he was so kind to us. As I was taking photos of our food, he brought over two glasses of orange juice so that my photos would have a pop of color.
Throughout the meal he made sure we had everything we needed, made jokes with us, and made sure my meal was gluten and pork free (yes I am that high maintenance, I’m so sorry to every waiter out there!!).
Then after the meal, he surprised us with a complimentary crème brûlée that lit up with fire- all for picture purposes!
Knowing nothing about me other than I enjoyed taking photos, he made my day!
I have to admit, the food was pretty incredible.
I ordered the ham and cheese omelette with no ham and veggies instead. They put asparagus, peppers, and mushrooms in for me which was so kind!
Harrison got the eggs and bacon.
My coffee was excellent, and his latte was divine.
(And there are the two orange juices that Timothy brought by!)
And of course, the crème brûlée was beyond delicious.
The french-style interiors
Mercat Bistro is decorated with gorgeous French bistro decor. With mismatched porcelain plates, marble table tops, and plants here and there, it has a whole lot of charm.
(There I am!)
You’ll also find a patio area attached.
How gorgeous is this decor?
And the surrounding areas
This part of town is really unique. There are some Genghis Khan style horses:
gorgeous glass windows:
and easy, free parking in the attached garage.
Don’t forget about giant chess while you’re over here too!
So if you haven’t yet tried out Mercat Bistro, I highly recommend it! If you’re able, make a reservation beforehand so you can skip the wait and go straight into the tasty part!
