If you’re like me (Harrison, Jasmine’s husband), you like your smoothies and may want to travel with a blender!
Below you will find information on how to travel with a blender in 2023. From choosing the right blender to packing it correctly according to TSA regulations, you will learn everything you need to know to travel safely with a blender.
Travel with Blender: TSA Rules and Regulations
The TSA specifies that blenders are allowed in carry-on bags, as long as passengers follow these instructions:
The blade must be removed, sheathed or securely wrapped, and then placed in checked luggage while the rest of the appliance can be placed in a carry on bag. And of course, any liquid stored in the blender must comply with the 3-1-1 liquids rule and all applicable liquids of 3.4 ounces or less must be stored in a clear, resealable quart-sized bag.
Highest Rated Travel Blenders
Now that you know how to store your blender for travel, finding the right travel blender that meets your needs can be tricky. No one wants to be traveling around with a bulky Vitamix! That said, as blenders get smaller and more travel friendly, they often become less functional.
The main thing I look for is the wattage of the base for these blenders. With more wattage comes more power to blend. But the more powerful the base, the larger it is too. You’ll want to find a nice balance of power and portability. Below I’ve listed some of the most popular travel blenders I could find along with the blender that I love and use most days.
1. Ninja Personal Blender for Shakes, Smoothies, Food Prep, and Frozen Blending with 700-Watt Base and (2) 16-Ounce Cups with Spout Lids

4.8 out of 5 stars
I, Harrison, use this blender nearly every day to make smoothies for Jasmine and me!
The Ninja Blender offers the powerful 700-watt motor base to blend, crush and pulverize ingredients for smoothies, frozen drinks, sauces and more. I use a variant of this blender almost every day to make my morning smoothie which consists of frozen spinach, frozen berries, whey protein powder, and Athletic Greens. The 2 included 16-oz. Nutri Ninja cups are great for enjoying drinks on-the-go. The blender is easy to clean, as it is BPA free and dishwasher safe, and comes with a 50-recipe inspiration guide to get you started.
I’ve never used the inspiration guide but I have used this blender for years now and it’s still going strong. When my office purchased a Vitamix, I continued to use this blender because it seemed to do just as well as the Vitamix while also having dishwasher safe parts! Plus, its powerful base allows me to pack in all I want to its large blender cups and make enough smoothie for two!

4.2 out of 5 stars
