50 Most Instagrammable Places in London (with Map & Photos!)

Before setting off on a two week trip to explore London as in-depth as possible, I knew I didn’t want to waste a single minute of my trip. My goal: find the most Instagrammable places in London so that I could experience the beauty of this city and share it with you!

Yes, I literally went on a two week trip to London so that I could write this article. So, let’s get to it!

What makes this the best list of Instagrammable Places in London

In case you want to check up on my credibility, here’s why I feel like this is really the best article compiling the most beautiful spots in London:

As a travel blogger and photographer, I always do a ton of research before my trips to make them as efficient as possible. No matter where I am, I’m always on the lookout for beauty, both natural and man-made. Simply put, I like to curate the most photo-worthy trips possible!

Leading up to my trip, I scoured the internet, Google Maps, Pinterest, and Instagram to find places to add to my list of Instagrammable places in London.

And as I walked around London, some more spots caught my eye, so naturally I added them as well.

After spending basically every minute of every day walking/tubing/busing all over, I really feel like I’ve really grasped the beauty that London has to offer! (This was also my third time in London.)

As a result, you have this thorough list of Instagram spots in London!

How to Use This List of Instagrammable Places in London

I’ve divided this long list into areas of London. Since London is so huge, I’m hoping this categorization method makes it easier for you to see which spots are in roughly the same area so that you can tackle multiple in one day.

Here are the general areas I’ve divided them into:

You’ll also find all of these Instagrammable London photo spots compiled into a map at the end of this post. It’s a Google map that you can save to your phone if you want to refer to it later on.

Without further ado, let’s dive into the most Instagrammable places in London!

Westminster & Covent Garden

1. Westminster Abbey

The famous Westminster Abbey boasts the highest Gothic vault in England, creating a dramatic backdrop for photos. And these iconic phone boxes nearby offer a quintessentially London photo-op, combining the grandeur of the Abbey with a classic British symbol.

2. K2 Telephone Boxes

Standing proudly near landmarks like Big Ben, the K2 Telephone Boxes, as you’ll find them labeled on Google maps, are one of the most photographed places in London. You’ll find lines of people at the several phone booths lined up with Big Ben. Since you can capture two quintessentially London things in one photo, it’s no wonder they’ve become one of the most Instagrammable spots in London! Head early in the morning if you want to avoid lines! We showed up around 10am and ended up waiting in line twice (probably 30 minutes each time!) since I didn’t love our first go-around.

3. Big Ben from the Bridge & Across the River

Here’s how to avoid the long lines at the K2 Phone Boxes by Big Ben while still getting a cool photo. Simply capture Big Ben on the bridge or, better yet, across the river! You’ll get to capture iconic landmarks like the Houses of Parliament and Big Ben.

4. Big Ben Archway

This London photo spot deserves its own place on this list, even though it is yet another angle of Big Ben. I love how the arch frames Big Ben and the bridge! (Just beware that this isn’t the most pleasant-smelling spot!) Also, you may have to wait for people to get out of the way here- patience is key!

5. Trafalgar Square

Trafalgar Square offers a blend of historical architecture and vibrant city life. The iconic Nelson’s Column provides a majestic backdrop, while the National Gallery offers a classical façade perfect for framing your shots. Don’t overlook the famous Trafalgar Square Lions or one of the beautiful fountains, either!

6. Mr Foggs Tavern

Mr Fogg’s Tavern is inspired by Jules Verne’s “Around the World in 80 Days.” Its Victorian-era decor and eclectic collection of artifacts makes it one of London’s most Instagrammable restaurants. Don’t miss the chance to snap a picture at the whimsically decorated washroom or flower-covered entrance, either!

Don’t miss the donuts at St John Bakery while you’re here!

8. Crown & Anchor

Crown & Anchor charms with its quintessentially British vibe, making it a hit on Instagram. Nestled in the vibrant Seven Dials area, its traditional pub aesthetics blend seamlessly with the modern buzz of Covent Garden. It’s not just the ambiance that attracts the social media crowd. The pub also boasts a selection of craft beers and delectable pub food that are as photogenic as they are satisfying.

9. Charming Streets in Covent Garden & the Theatre District

Covent Garden and the Theatre District are renowned for their stunning architecture, from the elegant Victorian market buildings of Covent Garden to the grandeur of the theatres lining the streets. The two streets you see pictured above are Monmouth Street and St Martins Lane right in the Seven Dials area.

10. Floral Street & Bageriet

Floral Street is another Instagrammable street in the Covent Garden area. Don’t miss Bageriet, a quaint Swedish bakery adjacent to Floral Street, with its authentic and beautiful Scandinavian pastries and cozy, inviting atmosphere.

11. The Strand & Somerset House

The Strand’s iconic streets are lined with historic landmarks, theaters, and elegant hotels. Whether it’s the grandeur of the Savoy or the charm of its small boutiques, it’s one of the most Instagrammable streets in London. Make sure to stop by Somerset House- its iconic courtyard transforms with the seasons, from a refreshing fountain oasis in the summer to a magical ice-skating rink in the winter.

12. Royal Courts of Justice

The Royal Courts of Justice stands out as one of the most Instagrammable places in London with its stunning Victorian Gothic Revival architecture. The building’s design by George Edmund Street, which took over eight years to complete, offers a glimpse into the grandeur of the 1870s. Moreover, its location on Strand, near several other iconic landmarks, makes it a perfect spot for a London photo tour.

13. National Justice Museum Phone Booths

I stumbled upon this beautiful display of four red phone booths while walking around the area and knew I had to add it to this list of Instagram spots in London! You’ll find the exact location at 51.5148706, -0.1129344 on Google Maps. London’s iconic red phone booths are a quintessential symbol of the city, making them perfect for that London Instagram photo. And next to the National Justince Museum, you get four in one shot!

14. The Old Curiosity Shop & Lincoln’s Inn Fields

The Old Curiosity Shop in London is a treasure trove of history and charm. Built around 1567, it’s one of the oldest shops in the city, with its timber from old ships and a façade that seems to whisper tales of the past. Its connection to Charles Dickens adds a literary allure that’s hard to resist. The shop’s unique architecture, with its classic Tudor style, provides a picturesque backdrop that is a slice of historical London frozen in time. I also thought that the nearby Lincoln’s Inn Fields made for a charming photo backdrop, so check it out if you’re already in the area!

Mr. Fogg’s House of Botanicals easily stands out as one of the most Instagrammable restaurants in London with its lush, plant-filled interiors that transport visitors to a verdant oasis in the heart of London. It became the epicenter of the “Swinging London” movement, attracting iconic figures like The Beatles and The Rolling Stones, who frequented its boutiques and cafes!)

19. Warren Mews

Warren Mews is an Instagrammable spot in London, thanks to its charming cobbled paths and the picturesque dark grey brickwork that exudes a timeless elegance. The vibrant array of parked bicycles adds a splash of color, creating a perfect contrast that photographers adore. (There is no parking allowed in front of it, which usually means you’ll have a clear shot of the building. However, to my extreme chagrin, that blue Air Conditioning van was parked outside of the lines, which meant I was stuck with it in my photo.)

Whether it’s the vibrant greenery, the luxurious dining options, or the open-air terrace that frames the city like no other, Sky Garden is a must on any London itinerary. Best of all, it is free to enter! However, online reservations are highly recommended! Free timed-entry tickets are released here up to three weeks in advance, and while walk-ins are possible, they’re subject to availability and not accepted after 5pm on weekdays. For a guaranteed entry, it’s best to reserve your ticket online for a hassle-free experience.

21. St Dunstan in the East Church Garden

St Dunstan in the East Church Garden is a hidden gem and photographer’s dream! The garden’s allure lies in its enchanting ruins draped in greenery. Its gothic architecture, combined with the lush botanical setting, makes you feel like you are no longer in London… even though you’re right by iconic landmarks like the Tower of London! It’s truly one of my favorite Instagrammable places in London!

22. Tower Bridge

Tower Bridge is one of the most iconic Instagrammable photo spots in London. Its distinctive Victorian Gothic style provides a dramatic backdrop for photos, especially if you’re able to capture a taxi or London bus whizzing by! (It was raining when we visited, so we didn’t have the patience to wait for one!) I recommend going before 9 am when the Tower of London opens. After that, you’ll see a lot more people on the bridge until it closes in the evening.

23. Tower Bridge from The Queens Walk & More London Place

For a better view of the entire bridge, head to The Queen’s Walk or More London Place. That way, you can capture the whole bridge in the background. Also, when you back all the way up to the wall, you can capture the Thames and you won’t have to wait for anyone to move out of your photo!

24. Hays Galleria

Hays Galleria fuses Victorian architecture with the contemporary buzz of shops and eateries. The glass canopy bathes the area in natural light and shelters from the rain (it was pouring when we went!). Our toddler loved watching the Hays Galleria centerpiece move, a striking 60ft bronze and water sculpture titled ‘The Navigators.’

25. Coppa Club Tower Bridge

Coppa Club Tower Bridge is an Instagrammable London hotspot due to its unique igloos that offer a unique dining experience with views of the Thames and the iconic Tower Bridge. With its warm atmosphere, ethically sourced coffee, and the charm of being a hidden gem in the bustling city, Host Cafe captures the essence of London’s vibrant culture and the tranquility of a sacred space all in one frame.

29. Watling Street

Watling Street, with its rich history dating back to Roman times, offers a unique view of St. Paul’s Cathedral. Quaint shops and bustling pubs frame the church, while the narrow pedestrian street creates leading lines to it. Definitely one of the most charming Instagrammable spots in London!

30. St. Pauls from One New Change & Millennium Bridge

Here are two more unique views of St. Paul’s Cathedral! If you take a photo from One New Change, you can capture cool reflections in the windows. You can also head down to the end of Millennium Bridge and use a zoom lens to capture a neat view of the cathedral juxtaposed with the modern lines of the bridge.

31. St. Pauls Close Up & Reflection Pool

Of course, you can always get a shot of St. Paul’s from right in front of it! During wisteria season, the blooms frame the church quite nicely. Alternatively, head to the nearby Reflection Pool for a (surprisingly not crowded!) view of the church.

It’s located in the iconic Michelin House, with its stunning Art Deco architecture and stained glass windows.

Halkin Mews, tucked away in the heart of Belgravia, is picturesque and secluded down a cul-de-sac. The mews houses, with their traditional facades covered in plants, and the cobblestone paths provide a stunning backdrop. (I also love the view you get looking from the mews out, framing the cute restaurant you see above!)

Bonus: The Rose House

This spot is definitely seasonal, but it’s so beautiful that it undoubtedly deserves a spot on this list of Instagrammable places in London. You’ll find it blooming in Belgrave Mews North during London’s rose season. For reference, this is what it looked like in May when the roses bloomed early.

What’s blooming in London? Generally, you can expect cherry blossoms from March to April, magnolias from March to May, wisteria in April and May, and roses typically from late May through July.

There is truly no shortage of beauty in London, even as you move further from the center of the city! We stayed in London’s northeast Highbury Fields/Islington area and were constantly wowed by the charming streets, buildings, and even canals here! Unfortunately, we were quite far away from southern London, which meant we didn’t quite have enough time to explore Richmond, the famous Kew Gardens, or other areas south and southeast of London. However, I’m listing them here so that you can see that these beautiful spots exist, and you can check them out when it’s convenient for you! I’ve separated them by cardinal directions to give you an idea of where these are, but you’ll most easily see them on the Google map below this section.
