Looking for mother and son photoshoot ideas?

As a mom with a son, finding the perfect moments to capture our bond has been both fun and memorable. I love looking back at all the cute photos my son and I have together!

As I think about the different photos we’ve taken together – and the photo inspiration that I’ve saved to my Pinterest and Instagram – I’ve come up with a few different categories for capturing cute mother-son photos.

Here are the different categories that I’ve used in case you’re looking for something specific and wnat to jump straight there:

1. Keep it Classic: Look and Smile at the Camera

You can’t go wrong with this classic mother/son photo pose! If you’re out and about with a baby, wearing them in a baby carrier is a great way to get photos together… they’re already positioned perfectly!

2. Walk and Look at Each Other

Here’s a candid shot where you can capture the love between mother and son! There’s something so sweet about looking into the eyes of your child!

3. Point at Something

This mother and son photo pose is great for highlighting playful moments or teaching moments between you and your little man. In some cases, if you’re pointing to something in the camera frame, it’ll also direct viewers to whatever it is that you’re pointing to! In our case, James pointing at the cute wreaths on the door is a great way to bring attention to some of the holiday décor we saw in New Orleans.
