You’ll be amazed by the spring photos you can create. So without further ado, here are 33 spring photoshoot ideas you should try this season!

Spring Photoshoot Ideas with Flowers, Mirrors, and Other Props

Spring is the perfect time to experiment with props in your photoshoot. You can use flowers, mirrors, flower crowns, and more to enhance the season’s natural beauty and express yourself in unique ways.

1. A Single Flower

This spring photoshoot idea is simple and easy. And you know what? Sometimes less is more. You can create a stunning image with just a flower or two. Just pick one or two and you’re good to go!

A straw hat is a practical choice for spring photoshoots, offering both style and sun protection. I love a good boater hat like this one:

2. Make a Flower Crown

A flower crown is a beautiful and easy way to add some color and freshness to your spring photoshoot. You can make your own flower crown with some wire, floral tape, and your favorite blooms, or buy one online just like this one.

3. Flower Picking with a Basket

What better way to celebrate spring than by picking some fresh flowers? Grab your sun hat and woven basket and head to the nearest field or garden. You’ll have a blast posing with the colorful blooms and showing off your natural beauty. Don’t forget to smile and have fun!

You can also take a closer shot focusing on your basket full of flowers.

Don’t have a flower field near you? You can still buy a bunch of blooms and put them in your basket, and photograph them in a field somewhere!

4. Make a Flower Top

Another creative idea for Flowers in a Spring photoshoot is to put flower stems into your denim pants to create a floral top!

5. Show Off Your Bouquet of Flowers

If you are camera shy, you can still show off your bouquet of flowers for spring by taking a photo of your hands holding the bouquet or simply hiding your face behind a bunch of flowers.

6. Use a Mural as a Backdrop

Look for spring-inspired murals and use them as a stunning backdrop for your photoshoot!

7. A Spring Photoshoot Idea with a Bicycle

A bicycle is a great accessory for a spring photoshoot. You can pose with your bike in your favorite dress and show off your style.

You can also put flowers in your bike’s basket to add some color and freshness to your photos.

8. A Floral Bath Tub Photoshoot

Enjoy a self-care photoshoot in a flower-filled bathtub this spring. You can choose any flowers you like, such as roses, tulips, daisies, or orchids. Arrange them in the water or around the tub, and get ready to pose. Place a flower behind your ear for a cute touch!

9. Put Flowers in Your Pocket

Peeking flowers from your back pocket are a cutesy way to spruce up your spring photos. It’s a simple idea, yet will make your pictures adorable.

If you want your picture to have that rustic vibe, check out this straw sun hat.

10. Use a Book as a Prop

A book can add a touch of charm and sophistication to your spring photoshoot. You can sit on the ground and hold your favorite book under the shade of a tree while the sunlight filters through the leaves. This will create a cozy and relaxing atmosphere for your pictures.

11. Do a Creative Shot with a Mirror

Find a flower field with a clear blue sky and green grass. Place a mirror on the ground and stand behind it. Hold your camera above the mirror and capture your reflection along with the colorful scenery.

Complete this photoshoot idea with this round mirror!

12. Use an Instax

Try your hand at Polaroid photography with the Instax, and add a flower to your shots for a touch of freshness and color.

13. Go on a Spring Picnic

To create a lovely picnic scene for your spring photoshoot, lay a blanket on a field. Make sure to get an aesthetic picnic basket to add romantic vibes. Then, set up some snacks and drinks – a charcuterie board, picnic foods, and fruit are some of my favorite options. Nothing says picnic quite like some berries or watermelon!

Lastly, don’t forget to add flowers for the finishing touch! I love how baby’s breath looks in photos, and it’s the perfect flower for spring photoshoots!

You can also switch up your spring picnic photoshoot with an overhead shot of a cute picnic flat lay or a close-up of your picnic spread.

14. Have Fun with Bubbles

Bubbles are not just for kids. They can also add a whimsical touch to your spring photoshoot. Whether you use a bubble machine, a wand, or a soap solution, you can create stunning effects with bubbles.

Where to Take Amazing Spring Photos

You want to take some awesome spring photos, right? Then you should look for places where you can find colorful flowers, lush greenery, or scenic landscapes that showcase the best of spring. Here are some great locations for spring photoshoots!

15. Spring Photoshoot Location Ideas: Flower Fields

Find out the best flower fields near you to capture the beauty of spring! Granted, some of us are surrounded by more than other (I’m looking at you, Californians), but there’s bound to be a flower field within driving distance. (Hopefully??)

Here are some of my favorite types of flower fields to photograph! (If you’re in Dallas, check out this post to see my favorite flower fields nearby!)

Sunflower Field

While sunflowers typically bloom in the summer, some areas have them blooming in the spring! We’ve found them in bloom in the spring in Florida and California, but they might be blooming near you, too!

Texas Bluebonnets

There are so many bluebonnets on the Ennis Bluebonnet Trail! If you’re in Texas, you know that this is Texas’s state flower, and you can’t miss seeing these beautiful flowers in spring!

Tulip Fields

Wildflowers

Or simply just choose an area with lots of wildflowers! Experiment with different angles, poses, and expressions to capture the best shots!

Here’s a similar dress to the one I’m wearing.

16. Spring Photoshoot Location Ideas: A Forest

Not all spring photoshoot ideas involve flowers! Try going into the woods, where you can enjoy green leaves, fresh air, and natural beauty. Whether you go solo or with your partner, you’ll have a memorable experience and some stunning pictures to show for it.

17. Spring Photoshoot Location Ideas: Flowering Gardens and Parks

Step into a world where flowers bloom in abundance, creating the perfect setting for your spring photoshoot. Let nature’s colors bring your pictures to life!

White dresses are one of my photography staples. And it’s a perfect color as it effortlessly highlights the background without clashing with it. Here’s a similar dress to the one I’m wearing!

18. Spring Photoshoot Location Ideas: Lush Greenery

When you’re out in gardens, fields, or parks, look for natural contrasts and let the greens set the stage for your spring photoshoot.

19. Spring Photoshoot Location Ideas: Blooming Trees Around Your Neighborhood

Discover the vibrant spring flowers around your neighborhood for that perfect and natural photoshoot setting.

20. Spring Photoshoot Location Ideas: Flower Walls

Other than flower fields, blooming trees, and floral gardens, there’s one more way that flowers grow that would be perfect for a spring photoshoot! Climbing vines and flower walls! When flowers hang off walls or climb on the sides of buildings, they become the perfect spring photoshoot backdrop! Wisteria is one of my favorite flowers that grows this way! You can shoot straight on or try to capture the layers of flowers from the side.

21. Spring Photoshoot Location Ideas: Your Spring Break Trip

Find pretty blooms and take a picture with your luggage in tow! Even if the location isn’t springy, every spring break trip needs a spot on the ‘gram, whether you’re on the beach or skiing!

22. Spring Photoshoot Location Ideas: Pastel Color Backgrounds

How about using a pastel color for the background? Pastel colors are so soft, light, and cheerful, don’t you think? They can make your subject pop out and bring so much joy to photos!

23. Spring Photoshoot Location Ideas: A Vineyard

Imagine you’re strolling through the lush vineyards, the spring breeze gently tousling your hair. It’s the perfect moment to capture the vibrant greenery and the budding vines, so go ahead, and frame that shot.

24. Spring Photoshoot Location Ideas: The Countryside

When you’re out there, look for the simple charm of the countryside: a rustic barn, rows of budding vines in the vineyard, picket fences, and all the other little details that shout ‘Spring is here!’ Keep it real and let the rural scene tell its story.

25. Spring Photoshoot Location Ideas: Spring-Themed Restaurants

If natural landscapes are not available in your area, you can still find spring-themed restaurants. This photo was taken in Residents DC, one of the most Instagrammable places in Washington DC.  They’ve got an incredible patio that they decorate seasonally!

26. Spring Photoshoot Location Ideas: A Floral Storefront

On a similar note, the entrances to shops or restaurants can be gorgeous as well! Whether the flowers are fake or real, flower-covered entrances make for a gorgeous spring photo backdrop.

27. Spring Photoshoot Location Ideas: The Side of the Road

Some of the best wildflowers bloom on the edges of the road! If you’re on a quiet road, don’t hesitate to pull over for a photo next to the road (or a photo of the road itself!). Don’t see spring blooms? Well, scenic drives and road trips make for great spring photoshoot backgrounds even without them. You just need to find the right background and angle!

28. Spring Photoshoot Location Ideas: An At-Home Spring Photoshoot

With spring in full swing, embrace the season right in your own space. Here, you can always have your photo shoot at home, surrounded by the vibrant cheer of flower blooms. If you are camera shy, you can create a cutesy spring-themed flat lay with flowers, fruits, and pastels.

Spring Photoshoot Ideas: What or Who is Your Subject?

When planning a spring photoshoot, choose your subject carefully; either the vibrant wildlife, the blooming flowers, the unpredictable weather, or the joy of people enjoying more daylight. Each offers a unique backdrop to tell a compelling story through your lens.

29. Family Spring Photoshoot

Gather your loved ones for a family spring photoshoot that captures the joy and togetherness of the season. It’s a chance to freeze this moment in time, amidst the soft, warm hues of spring.

30. Spring Photoshoot with Friends

Hit the outdoors with your friends for a spring photoshoot where you can wear matching outfits. It’s a fun way to show off your bond and welcome the season in style!

31. Solo Portrait

Capture the essence of spring with a solo portrait that’s all about you. It’s a moment where only you are in focus, surrounded by the vibrant rebirth of nature.

32. A Zoomed-In Spring Portrait

(Yes, the bees made me nervous here. Hopefully, you can’t tell!)

If you don’t have a scenic background or simply want to take a cool close-up, this is one of my favorite spring photoshoot ideas!

33. Baby Spring Photoshoot

Just like spring, babies symbolize new beginnings and growth. Capture this in a photoshoot that highlights their innocence and the fresh bloom of the season.

34. Easter Photoshoot

When spring is here, that means Easter is just around the corner! Why not capture some Easter fun with your camera? You can set up an Easter garden with a basket, some eggs, and a cute bunny. Then, let your kids or pets explore and enjoy the festive scene.

35. Wildlife or Pets

Wildlife is more active and diverse in the spring. You can photograph birds, insects, and other animals that emerge during this season.

You can also make your pet the subject of your spring photoshoot! Find a floral background and show the world how cute your pet is!

I mean, look how adorable this bunny is:

36. Spring Blooms

Flowers are the stars of spring, they create a vibrant contrast with the green grass and trees. You can capture the delicate details of petals, buds, and stems, or take a wide-angle shot of a field or garden full of blossoms, or take a wide-angle shot of a field or garden full of blossoms

37. Spring Weather

Changing weather provides different lighting and mood effects. You can experiment with sunrises, sunsets, rainbows, clouds, and rain and see how they affect the colors and shadows of your subjects.

Golden Hour

Capture the sunset for stunning photos with unmatched emotional depth.

The Rainbow After the Rain

You can also capture the vibrant hues of the rainbow as a backdrop to your spring photoshoot, ensuring the colors pop against the clear, post-rain sky.
